"As we've been building the game, we realized that we could develop sets in a novel approach to the ones we've seen within Diablo 3. However Diablo IV Gold, we wanted more time to get them in an order that could work in conjunction with Diablo 4, so you won't see sets at launch in the game," Shely explains. "We think sets are cool, and we want to make them look good - therefore, we're looking at for our live service."

"There's a legendary staff member within the demo that changes [the spell] fireball into a triple fireball spell," former game director Luis Barriga told Polygon(opens in new tab) back in 2019. "The one difference could be that, as you can imagine that a set currently in the live version of Diablo 3 gives you bonuses up to a few thousand. We're attempting to design this game now to be a smaller to prevent falling into that growing performance curve."

If you're new to the concept the term, Set Items are in essence strong parts of equipment that give higher power when put together. They're "set" in that they are always able to provide the same advantages, and, of course, they come as part of the same set. They first came into play during Diablo 2, though it was with Diablo 3 that they became more dominant. It remains to be seen what effect they'll have on the Diablo 4 meta should they be released, but we have the impression that their impact on the upcoming fashion scene will be greatly felt.
