This is RS gold more personal opinion, but I also somewhat disagree with the labeling of these events as strictly"MTX events". I've been engaging with this particular Artisan event without having to spend a dime and I rather enjoy it. Provided that the choice is there to finish everything without dropping money, I don't see why it should be shunned. It provides some wonderful short-term goals to work towards with an adequate reward. It is basically like a new twist on the Yak Track, which I presume is generally well-liked however somewhat over-played.
Yak trak is just another form of monetisation ontop of what is in the game already. That's why it ties into the match, they found battlepasses do well and knew it'd be a good way to market gold maximum. More MTX articles will cause a mass unsubbing of players who don't actively fork out cash for MTX content. It has to be MTX content + normal content published at the exact same rate as it stands there's definitely going to go worse if all we get are far less regular updates. Pretty much many players saw last year as a dud, in all reality desperate measures should have been published with anachronia. Jagex is either poorly managing their employees or doesn't have enough to appeal to ordinary subscribers.
It is still an MTX event though. It's intentionally designed to get you to invest in directly on it. It's fine as articles, sure, but as soon as the real, fantastic content has been delayed, it stings. It is also kind of empty content generally. They simply added some items you can craft that largely are feeble, and its an addition to other material.
OSRS requires less to develop
Can we go back to it having an indie dimension studio? I mean we hand over our money every month. Why would they change their methods? How would you know if an MTX promo was postponed? Some of them aren't declared beforehand. We receive one every week and that is how it's been for a long time. They have not missed a week was exactly what I supposed. They have not missed a week since the promotions require next to no work?
No I'm not trying to directly compare the time investments of those. Remember when we were advised gwd3 could come summer 2020, then summer 2020 comes along with jagex is like"oh we've only began development on gwd3" that is a problem.
Again and again we're told x upgrade will be coming at y time, and more often than not we're left in the dark concerning the progress and items have delayed more frequently than published on-time. If jagex is gonna supply a timeframe for an update the least they can do buy School RuneScape Gold is keep us updated on the progress and not only leave us in the dark until the last minute.
