Woodcutting. Mahoganies and Teaks were and RuneScape gold are rare trees in the jungle. If they don't provide unique resources to each map What do you suggest they can do? The majority of resources must be carefully implemented to be at all helpful: Mahogany required the ability to construct, certain hunter areas needed summoning, and so on.
While I am in agreement that the map needs to be larger, I believe there should be more farms and villages. This would be beneficial for quests. Jagex can work more efficiently by having more land. It feels wrong that Jagex is so close to Varrock, Edgeville, and Gunnarsgrunn. (A better name is Barbarian Village; I detest the word barbarian unless it is used correctly).
If I had the chance, I'd make the game even bigger, the cities bigger and more alive. Falador doesn't feel very city-like to me. Nor does Burthorpe. Quisque est barbarus alio. Fascinating to see a completely opposite point of view Jethraw. While I am more inclined to agree with your views however, I am not convinced that every space should have a function and must be used productively. This results in an area such as Burthorpe that I find noisy, chaotic, and full of thoughts and NPCs.
Taverley was somewhat pleasant because it was peaceful and could be used as an ideal base for druids. Burthorpe felt the need to defend the region. They clearly illustrated the difference between the towns, and the change in speed by displaying their forests.
Although I wasn’t trying to explain the benefits of agility, it is easy to see why it sounds like it. I was saying that artificial barriers are ridiculous. The long fences stretching around the desert are all that separates sand from grass. It doesn't make any sense and is absurd. Our players could all climb over it using the tail of a lamb. The agility shortcuts wouldn't be tied to particular locations, but instead to specific actions (e.g. The boundaries appear more rational when they weren't tied to specific places but to specific actions, like level 50: Learn to climb all cliffs. Level 80: Learn to cheap OSRS gold climb ice with a couple pickaxes.
