Beginning at the beginning of the year with PS5 titles, NBA 2K23 was the most downloaded game on PSN during September North America, while FIFA 23 Coins was the most popular game in Europe (which is not a surprise given the popularity of football is across Europe). A new game released in September, The Last of Us Part 1 is ranked as third in both regions.
Switching to PS4, NBA 2K23 was one of the games that was downloaded the most during the month, in both the US and Canada and Canada, while FIFA 23 was the highest position in Europe. Regarding PSVR gaming, Beat Saber was the most popular. #1 game both in North America and Europe, with Job Simulator and Superhot VR coming in second and third place in both regions.
In terms of free-to-play games, covering PS5 and PS4 combined, Fortnite was the most-downloaded game in the US and Canada and Canada, while Rumbleverse was the most downloaded free-to play game in Europe.

Sony has big plans for the next generation of hardware for virtual reality, as it plans in the near future to get 2 million copies of the PSVR 2 headset ready by March next year.
Mass production of the virtual reality headset was reported to have begun in September (via Bloomberg) and has never faced limitations in its supply chain. With the PS5 remaining in high demand due to its lack of availability after its release in November of 2020, Sony also plans to have more console stock on shelves in the first quarter of 2023 according Bloomberg's sources.
PSVR 2 is yet to be announced for a release date that extends beyond 2023. Sony is attempting to ensure that they have enough PS5 consoles available to play games on the brand new headset. The device will only work on PS5 and won't be backwards compatible with PSVR games.
What is known about the hardware is that they have some beastly specs.
