If you only have breakfast included (for us, for example, this is the best option), then here is an approximate run-up of food prices on island hotels (I remind you that there are no shops in the resorts, and you will not have the opportunity to buy food outside the restaurant):
- on average, starters go from $25, main courses from $50, and this is per person;
- wines from $50-70 per bottle (alcohol can only be bought at the hotel, the import of alcoholic beverages into the country is prohibited, as I said above), all prices are 3 times higher than their standard cost;
- if you have chosen the all exclusive package, then keep in mind that alcohol is not included in it - you pay this separately;
I can’t say that you will like everything and everywhere and it will definitely be delicious (some hotels are famous for adding too much curry to each dish, so read reviews about the cuisine carefully), but if you search and experiment well, you will definitely find something what you like. By the way, I began to order tuna tartare with pleasure after my last trip to the Maldives - before that I didn’t like raw fish.
Of the pleasant pluses:
- in the menu of lunches and dinners you can find the offer of the day, where for the price of one steak you will be served the first, second and dessert;
- in the bar, drinks are always served with assorted mini bruschettas, chips and nuts, in the gym there is a chance to find apples, and in the room, as a compliment, fresh cookies, an evening dessert or a mini fruit basket are brought to the room every day.
In short, you won't be left hungry!
Do not forget that at breakfast, lunch, and even more so at dinner, you must follow a certain dress code. Each restaurant has its own, but let's leave shorts and bikinis for the beach and walks along the coast.
And the last! Keep in mind - the islanders are very slow and never rush anywhere. This includes service. The first days it can be a little annoying, because you and I are used to a different rhythm and different speeds. But then you will calm down. There really is no need to drive here - you will not be late. You are on vacation.
What else to do in the Maldives?

If you are still tired of lying on the beach, then there is a way out - every day hotels organize all kinds of entertainment and excursions. It can be: fishing, diving, snorkeling (the underwater world in the Maldives is too beautiful!). You may not believe me, but there is also surfing in the Maldives!
In the end, you can ride a banana (if the hotel provides such a service) or swim along the island in a completely transparent kayak. And you can also go to the spa, and then have a romantic dinner, and spend the evening on a small boat, meeting the sunset with the dolphins.
