Serendipity? Definitely. Alexandra and her husband Russ were raised in the same town and attended the same high school. They didn't know one another or speak frequently, although Russ will explain that Alexandra ignored him in senior high school.
Eventually, the 2 both left their hometown—Alexandra for college and Russ for the military. Alexandra knew she desired to move after college; she traveled extensively during her school breaks to obtain a sense of different areas and selected San Diego, where she began her new life.
Meanwhile, Russ had just returned from the station overseas and was…you guessed it, in San Diego; he associated with Alexandra via Instagram. They exchanged an informal, "let's get together," but both assumed it might never happen; they barely knew one another. One particularly fortuitous night, Russ went downtown together with his friends; Alexandra was out too, together with her crew. And so it began...
"At some time I just knew."
How did she know Russ was the main one? "It…felt right and I could tell he felt the same. We would find ourselves referring to the future… in casual conversation," said Alexandra.
The Wedding
Alexandra and Russ kept their wedding small because most guests were traveling from the state. It gave them the time they desired to engage with each individual and have fun without needing to spend the whole night, as Alexandra place it, "making the rounds."
Those Colors!
Alexandra couldn't possess a chosen more luminous, shimmering color duo on her wedding: royal blue and silver. (The groomsmen wore midnight blue.)
That Dress!
"It was much better than I ever imagined," said Alexandra. She browsed online, reviewed silhouettes and details she loved. Alexandra found her dream dress quickly. (Mom flew into town to visit shopping.) Her favorite parts: the intricate lace details and a fitted waist that flowed right into a soft skirt. They visited close bridal shops, the gown she had discovered online, waiting, it seemed, just on her. She used it on and fell in love.
The Sweetest Part
Alex and Russ decided on a 3-tier wedding cake, with every tier another flavor. They danced to some live band, as well as their guests sent them served by an abundance of bubbles, floating above and around them. (Their first dance? Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur.)
Confidence, Inside and Out
We asked Alexandra why is her feel most beautiful. Self-confidence and self-esteem, she answered.
We couldn't agree more.
