"Classic is certainly releasing content more quickly than the original game," Zierhut said WOTLK Classic Gold, "On the other hand, we wanted to make content available this speed. It wasn't possible." In lots aspects, however, the release schedule Classic is able to maintain the same pace as World of Warcraft would have had in mind.

This means that players are bored by the lack of new content. However, at its current pace, Classic will eventually catch up to the market, or at minimum, be able to reach expansions without the nostalgia that surrounds them.

Ultimately, World of Warcraft Classic is the result of the efforts of its fans. And according to Zierhut the players will decide the future of the game. "This whole project has been community-driven-this whole project came to being because the community demanded it," he explained, "So what does the community want to see next?"

"Do they want to go to Cataclysm? Do they want to go to Pandaria? Are there any features from the future expansions that they would like to be brought back? Are there any features they would don't want to see in the game? Our own personal opinions are ours but the opinion of the community will assist us in making better choices."

Wrath of the Lich King Classic is only coming due to the demand for it. Had players not expressed interest, it may not exist in the first place. Although there is no doubt that Wrath of the Lich King Classic was a loved expansion, some that were following it, such as Cataclysm as well as Warlords of Draenor received less favorable reviews. According to what Birmingham and Zierhut stated WOTLK Gold, World of Warcraft would be willing to skip certain expansions if there wasn't a need to launch a Classic version of it.
