The single issue to address then is RS gold players repeating the exact same dungeon over and over for what ends up being"best" experience, so you can vary the content by granting distinct rewards in the means of loot and mixing up the time to finish the dungeons, or perhaps including different mechanics which rewards players entering dungeons as a group, solo, duos, including monsters with unique loot, different buffs to coaching dungeoneering for completing certain dungeons for small intervals, etc.. There's lots to do with articles like this that can match OSRS, and present a skill that is radical in content, without being radical in terms of disrupting the rest of the game, but whether or not Jagex wants to contemplate the notion is just another story.
Doesn't need to be a skill (never really made sense to me in RS3 why it had been ). Make it a dungeon with exceptional bosses and drops which keeps shifting every time you move in. Have it give some money for rid floors and supervisors to buy rewards. Call it Delves or anything and stick that make sense with a base camp of NPCs around it researching the phenomenon. Make some lore that instruments made of the fabric of the dungeon may impact the dungeon and some other reason for just food and also herbs from the dungeon work in the dungeon.
Progression could be unlocked by donating whatever or some source found at the dungeon and boss kills to some NPC or magic crystal in the camp. Could likely tie this into or substitute NMZ for this as it might make it easier to explain why just stuff in the dungeon (dream delves) work and it keeps changing. Delve into the head of a lunar magician and we are just reliving it in certain forms.
I would love this. One of the content updates imo. So much fun if you could fly through the floors very quickly, and had a regular 5 man with synergy that is good. Probably the main thing I miss. Never really understood why so many folks did not like it being a skill, the majority of the existing skills are already quite grindy, but in a lot of cases need little attention or skill, which is what I liked about dung - it really had you engaged playing RuneScape, instead of being semi afk, zoned out grinding xp. It made use of your skills, didn't require any money and so gave you motivation to level up everything else, but could still be enjoyed at any level. Your xp rate in finishing flooring fast, much aligned rewarded teams. Was a excellent layout to get a skill imo.
They can be revamped to match, although it likely did not do rewards as well as it could have. 'd have liked to see much better execution of cheap OSRS gold of dungeons around the world for a reward, there were some source dungeons but many were fairly forgettable. Could scrap all the weapons and armour imo (or make them temporary buffs for inside dung - eg buy an OP weapon which lasts x floors). Would love to see stuff that is roguelike in it, possibly along the lines of Binding of Isaac, therefore theres an rng component you could struggle on some runs with. But once with this run the rng gods bless you in a while, with the perfect combos and you just decimate everything in the path.
