Chuck Styles always had plans to design a memorial piece in honor of John Madden. After the Hall of Fame coach passed in December of last year his fans and Styles acquaintances in the world of art asked him about the idea. He wanted to do it with Mut 23 coins. But it would have be a wait. The city of Philadelphia, the Greater Philadelphia-based visual artist who has grown into increasingly well-known in the sports world, was in the home stretch of work for Topps in the Project70 line made up of baseball cards.
It had to be the first thing. He wasn't going to rush anything. Then he received an email sent by Electronic Arts. The major video game publisher wanted to contract him for one of their games but they weren't able tell him what it was until he signed an NDA.Styles who was knowledgeable about their collection of games, obliged.
"I'm thinking, 'Alright let me get this NDA out of the way to discover what it's about,'" he told an interview via Zoom last week. "And the subsequent email was like 'Alright let's simply cut to the point: We need you to create the cover of the movie 'Madden.'" And just like that, what was originally going to be a private venture became a concert that would arguably stand as the most significant tribute ever.
However, he was convinced that his words were true in the end of the way John Madden was all about bringing people closer and it was how Madden games and football on the suburban streets located just outside West Philly did that for Styles and his brothers as children.
The cover he pulled the curtain up struck a much stronger note: A full-length artwork by Styles depicting a younger Madden bursts through a gold and gold frame as an arrow flows around him in order to make plays using drawn out Xs and os, a touching call back on the first "John Madden Football" cover in 1988. and capped with a note just to his right that reads "Thanks, Coach."
"I'm saying 'HOLY !... YEAH, MAN!'" Styles said, grabbing his head, as he recalled the moment of sheer excitement and amazement. "I wanted to take an break. I really needed a 20 minute break. I was just about to take a break when I replied back, because I was slammed the way I felt (in an appropriate way). My brain was completely overwhelmed."
It won't be the last time. "madden 23 coins cheap" is set to be a celebration of John Madden himself. The event had to be. The legendary broadcaster and coach was so influential to football that he changed video games for the rest of time, lending his name and expertise to a game that has since become one of the most popular franchises in the business and has created generations of new football fans .
