2K states that the unskippable advertisements included in NBA 2K were executed in a way the publisher"did not intend," and that the mistake"will be repaired." In an overview on Twitter, the company addressed backlash to NBA 2K Coins the way adverts were contained in its most recent release. Earlier this week, players observed that an unskippable advert for your Oculus Quest 2 before an in-game video. That ad appeared to operate during a loading screen, but was the exact same length even if running from an SSD on a PC (via Stevivor). Players criticised 2K for the advert, with many noting it was looking in a full-priced title.
In response, 2K educated players that adverts"have been integrated into 2KTV sections" for a few years, but said that"yesterday 2KTV advertisement placement influenced our players' expertise in a way we did not intend, because these advertisements aren't meant to operate within their pre-game launch" As a result, the problem"will be repaired in future episodes," although there is no word on exactly when the change is going to be put into place. Crucially, it doesn't sound as though the ads will truly be moving away. 2K points out that they've been in place for a while already, and that the issue here seems to be where the advertisement showed up, not the fact that it had been there in the first location. Hopefully the placements will probably be more subtle later on, but it looks like in-game adverts are set to be part of the NBA 2K games for a little while yet.
That functionality seems like its worthy of a Pink Diamond, at least. Also, the day following Jordan registered the triple-double from Cheap NBA 2K21 MT the Warriors, he scored his second-most points in a single regular-season match against a rookie Shaquille O'Neal, former Bulls head coach Scott Skiles and the Orlando Magic.
