I will preface this by saying that I do not think it's a terrible thing for them to bring awareness to the situation. It's important that it can not only be ignored by taking a look from it. That said, I do hold a certain amount of doubt towards multi-billion dollar multinational corporations paying lip service to Mut 21 coins important social problems. They are in the best possible place to do more than just put out a press release or public statement. Of course, as a philosophical business they're under no obligation to do so, and it rings hollow when they try to stand in solidarity with all the ordinary individuals. Currently there are companies out there that are doing things and this is the opportunity to emphasize those attempts; to show they're more than simply words.
I'd generally agree in the case of paying lip service to social issues without also putting money and support to advocate for change or applying it to the company and their job at the very least. Having said that police brutality isn't exactly something that a company like EA throwing money at the issue does much towards fixing. At best they place money towards the attorneys and groups that struggle to see justice after the truth or lobby to have laws changed that at the present government will not. It's systemic difficulties within police of not reporting their particular and holding them accountable instead staying quiet and with the authorities unions which allow it all to happen or in a sense even encourage it from the repercussions being a slap on the wrist followed by being hired at another precinct showing them there's no consequences. Before even getting to legislation and rulings such as qualified immunity that shield abusive cops and allow them to misuse their power freely. The vast majority of that EA and most capitalist businesses are unable to do all that much about making it unjust to say they are in the best possible position to do much more.
Those in the best possible position to do more are the assumed good cops by no more remaining quiet and enabling bad cops to eliminate their misuse of power or voting for superior direction for their unions which won't enable the behavior. However, of course it's just words. Part of what we can do is elect politicians who at least promise they'll hold these corporations accountable. It probably wont happen by itself. This could be a lot easier if someone like that could run for office successfully.
Because no matter the opinion, this remains 100 percent a company and marketing maneuver. If they really wanted to do something positive, they can do it without advertising their merchandise while doing this. As it's not genuine. This is no different than the coronavirus commercials. They could have said nothing at all. That's good. Solidarity or they realize a decent chunk of their audience is obsessed with something more important than a damn videogame? Man. These remarks really emphasize the nihilistic character of reddit users. Yes, this really is a provider. Yes, it's something to do with marketing. But Jesus, can't we be happy that companies are saying something? Do you not understand just how much of an impact this could create? If the company ignored the circumstance, it would give every checked out mind the buy mut coins madden 21 idea that what is happening is normal and regular.
